Biyoloji eğitiminde, eğitimin başarısını etkileyen en önemli faktörlerden biri de fiziksel sorunlar olarak bilinmektedir. Bu çalışmanın amacı ortaöğretim biyoloji eğitiminde karşılaşılan fiziksel sorunların öğrenci başarısına etkisini tespit edip çözüm önerileri sunmaktır. Araştırma 2005-2006 eğitim-öğretim baharyarıyılı döneminde Van il merkezindeki liselerden toplam 200 öğrenci ile yürütülmüştür. Materyal olarak fiziksel sorunları İçeren çoktan seçmeli bir test uygulanmıştır. Ortaöğretim biyoloji eğitiminde karşılaşılan fiziksel sorunlar üç ana başlık altında ete alınmıştır. Bunlar: Okulun fiziksel durumu, sınıfın fiziksel durumu ve ders araç-gereçlerdir. Anket soruları bu faktörler dikkate alınarak hazırlanmıştır. Elde edilen veriler frekans ve yüzde dağılımı kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Çalışma sonucunda öğrenci başarısını olumsuz yönde etkileyen faktörler; okulda ders ile ilgili laboratuarın yetersiz olması, deneyde kullanılan araç-gereçlerin eksikliği ve sınıf mevcutlarının kalabalık olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Sonuç olarak biyoloji eğitiminin daha verimli hale getirmek için okulun ve sınıfın fiziksel mekânlarının öğrencilerin başarışını olumlu yönde etkileyecek şekilde düzenlenmesi gerekir. Ayrıca bir sınıftaki öğrenci sayısını azaltmak için ek dersliklerin yapılması, laboratuarlarda yeterli düzeyde deney yapabilmek için de gerekli araç-gerecin sağlanması gerekmektedir.

In Biology education, one of the most important factors that affect succes of educatıon 1s known as physical problems. The objective of this study is to establish the effects of physical problems on the succes of the stundentş at secondary Biology education and to propose possible solutions. The study han been caried out in the second term of 2003-2004 education year with 200 students from highsehools in Van Giy centre, A multiple - choice test, facusing on physical problems, has been applied as material. Problems that might be faced with in he process of biology educatiarı in secondary schools can be evaluated under three titles. These are; physical conditions of school, phsical conditions of classroom and ihe classroom materials. The questions of the survey have been prepared by taking these factors into account. The results have been analysed by uning “freguency” and “percentage” mothods. The factors which megalively affect the succes can be listes as follows; insufficisney of laboratories in schools, lack of materials used in experivmenis and crowded classrooms. As a result, phsical conditions of the classrooms and the conditions of education environment should be reorganized in a way that will affect the succes positively in order to maket he education more efficient. Also extra classromms should be built in order to reduce the population of current classrooms and recessary materials should be provided to be able to make adequate experiments.
