Her iki grubun FSFI skorları karşılaştırıldı.

Effects of urinary incontinence and/or lower urinary tract symptoms on female sexual health

Objectives: In tis study, we evaulated the relationship between female sexual dysfunction (FSD) and urinary dysfunction. Women suffers from urinary incontinence and/or lower urinary tract symptoms ( LUTS ) were compared with healthy women. Materials and Methods: Thirtynine women (age:21-48) with urinary incontinence and/or LUTS and 32 healty women (age:18- 49) who has without any urinary symptoms were enrolled in this study. Standart filling cystometry was applied to all patients after evaulating with history, physical examination and questioning forms (I-PSS, ICIQ-SF, FSFI). Healty women were only questioned with FSFI due to having no urinary incontinence and/or LUTS. FSFI scores were compared betweeen two groups. Additionally, relationship between FSFI domains and ICIQ-SF, I-PSS and urodynamic findings were investigated. Results: Sexual dysfunction was observed in 31 of 39 patients and 5 of 32 healty women respectively. All FSFI domain scores of the patient group were significantly lower than control group (p<0,000). In symptomatic women group, correlation between sexual dysfunction and symptom severity was not observed. The severity of sexual dysfunction was only related with the quality of life score which was assesed by ICIQ-SF, I-PSS (p= 0.004, p= 0.001). FSFI domain scores or severity of LUTS were not affected by detrussor over activity or any other urodynamic parameter. Conclusion: Women with urinary incontinence or/and LUTS is likely to have sexual dysfunction. Although FSD is not related with LUTS severity or urodynamic findings, most important factor that influences FSD severity is quality of life which can be estimated with ICIQ-SF and I-PSS. Sexual functions should be investigated in this patient groups.
