Pierre Bayle’ın Tarihsel ve Eleştirel Sözlük adlı eserindeki “Spinoza” maddesi, Spinoza felsefesinin temel meselelerine dair genel bir bakış sunar. Söz konusu maddenin burada çevirisi sunduğumuz “N Çıkması”nda ise Bayle, özellikle Spinoza’nın Ethica adli eserine odaklanarak kip, değişiklik, töz ve Tanrı gibi Spinoza metafiziğinin temel kavramlarına yönelik eleştiriler getirir.

Pierre Bayle’s “Spinoza” article in the Historical and Critical Dictionary provides a critical overview of the main issues in Spinoza's thought. But in the so called ‘Remark N’ he focuses mainly on the Ethics and presents a list of objections to the most fundamental concepts of Spinozian metaphysics such as mode, modification, substance, and God etc.
