ADAPTATION OF THE SOCIALLY RESPONSIBLE LEADERSHIP SCALE TO TURKISH: A VALIDITY AND RELIABILITY STUDY

This study aims to examine validity and reliability of the Turkish form of Socially Responsible Leadership Scale (SRLS). For this purpose, the scale has been implemented to 692 university students studying in different faculties and departments and data has been analyzed. Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) was performed to determine the construct validity of the scale. Test-retest and Cronbach Alpha methods have been applied to determine the validity of SRLS. CFA which was performed in order to determine whether the factor structure of the original form verifies in the sample of Turkish university students, revealed that the model is sufficiently compatible. Test-retest reliability coefficient and Cronbach Alpha coefficient have been calculated for the reliability of SRL scale and results showed that the scale is sufficiently reliable. It is assumed that the final version of the scale with 8 dimensions and 60 items is valid, reliable and has a robust theoretical basis. The study indicates that there is a significant difference between the participants’ SRLS perception and the faculty they are studying at and membership status to any students union status.
