Farm Animal Welfare

Animal welfare is the combination of subjective and objective criterion of the conditions of life for animals, including health and disease, behavior, husbandry and management. Hence welfare varies from good to poor and includes the health and feelings of an animals as well as aspects of its behavior and physiology. Animals have a wide range of needs that are a consequence of the many functional systems that make life possible. The welfare of an animal is clearly affected by both failure to cope and difficulty in coping.
