Avusturalya’da Sosyal Hizmet: Etik Değerler, Kurallar ve Uygulama Standartları

Bu çalışmanın amacı Avustralya’da geliştirilmiş olan sosyal hizmet mesleği etik ilkeleri, değerleri ve standartlarının genel olarak betimlenmesidir. Bu amaca yönelik olarak Avustralya Sosyal Hizmet Uzmanları Derneği (ASHUD) tarafından 2000-2018 yılları arasında yapılan çalıştay süreçleri sonunda geliştirilen ve yetkinleştirilen standartlar özet olarak sunulmuştur. Ayrıca, Avustralya’da etik, uygulama, denetim, okul sosyal hizmeti ve zihinsel sağlık alanında çalışan sosyal hizmet uzmanlarına yönelik standartlar mevcuttur. Avustralya yeterlik standartları çerçevesi konusunda genel bir resim çizebilmek amacıyla bu çalışmada sırasıyla öncelikle ASHUD tarafından geliştirilen Etik Kurallara, Uygulama Standartlarına, Okul Sosyal Hizmeti Uygulama Standartlarına, Zihinsel Sağlık Alanında Çalışan Sosyal Hizmet Uzmanlarına Yönelik Standartlara ve Denetim Standartlarına genel başlıklar halinde yer verilmiştir. Çalışma, ülke bazında sosyal hizmet standartlarının genel olarak profilini çizmesi açısından önemli katkılar sunmaktadır.

Social Work in Australia: Ethical Values, Code of Ethics and Practice Standards

This study aims to give a general account of the ethics, values, principles and practice standards developed in Australia for the social work profession. To this end, a summary of the standards developed and matured by Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) through workshops between 2000-2018. In addition, AASW has developed principles and standards for practice, supervision, school social work and mental health professionals. To depict an overall picture, this study presents briefly AASW’s Ethics Code, Practice Standards, Practice Standards for School Social Work, Practice Standards for Mental Health Social Workers, and Supervision Standards. As a consequence, the study is thought to contribute significantly to the social work literature in that it presents the country profile in terms of social work professional standards.
