“OFFENES HEIMATMUSEUM BILLERBECK” PROJESİNİN KENT, BELLEK VE İLETİŞİM BAĞLAMINDA ÖRNEK OLAY OLARAK İNCELENMESİ

Hafıza, hatırlama ve unutma, bireysel ve kolektif bağlamda iç içe geçmiş terimlerdir. Kent ise hafıza kavramı ve medya pratikleri açısından araştırma potansiyeli taşıyan bir olgudur ve bu bakış açısının örnekleri literatürde mevcuttur. Kent belleğinde bireysel anı ve deneyimlere odaklanan bu çalışmada da ilk olarak bellek kavramı incelenmiş, daha sonra belleğin anı yaratma süreçlerindeki etkisinden bahsedilerek, bilhassa otobiyografik bellek kavramı üzerinde durulmuştur. Bireyin kendi deneyiminin bir çıktısı olan anılar ile bu anıların yaşanıldığı yerin etkileşimi üzerinden bir sorgulama yürütülmüştür. Kent belleği ve kentte yaşayanların bireysel deneyimlerinin arasındaki ilişkiye açıklık getirmek amacıyla 2020-2021 yılları arasında Almanya’nın Billerbeck şehrinde Kuzey Ren Vestfalya Eyaleti’nin desteği ile kurulmuş olan Offenes Heimatmuseum Billerbeck (OHB) isimli hibrit müze incelenmiştir. Bu müzenin eserlerini, Billerbeck şehrinde yaşayanların şehir ile ilgili deneyimleri oluşturmaktadır. Şehrin sokaklarına yerleştirilen paneller şehrin ziyaretçilerine hem çevrim dışı bir deneyim sunarken hem de müzenin çevrim içi boyutuna erişim olanağı sağlamaktadır. Her bir katılımcı için farklı anlamlar ifade eden kentin hatıra mekânlarının bütünü bir anlamda kentin belleğini ortaya koymaktadır. Makalede bu müzenin eserleri incelenerek sakinlerinin bireysel anılarının kentin belleği ve kentin temsili açısından sağladığı olanaklar belirlenmeye çalışılmıştır.

THE CASE STUDY OF THE “OFFENES HEIMATMUSEUM BILLERBECK” IN THE CONTEXT OF CITY, MEMORY AND MEDIUM

Memory, recall and forgetting are terms that are intertwined in an individual and collective context. The city phenomenon, which is directly related to memory and media, is a concept at the center of these individual narrative. In this study, which focuses on individual memories and experiences in urban memory, the concept of memory is studied first, in addition to that memory creation processes are mentioned and especially the concept of autobiographical memory is emphasized. A questioning about the importance of the living place on memory creation, which is an output of the individual’s own experience, was carried out. In order to clarify the relationship between the urban memory and the individual experiences of people in the city, Offenes Heimatmuseum Billerbeck (OHB) hybrid museum, which was established with the support of North Rhine Westphalia State of Germany between 2020-2021, was examined. The works of the museum are the experiences of the residents of Billerbeck about the city. The displays placed on the streets of the city provide visitors both an offline experience and access to the online view of the museum. The whole memory places of the city, which mean differently for each individual resident, in a sense, shows the memory of the city. In the article, by examining the works of the museum, the opportunities, that is provided by memory of individual residents in terms of city memory and representation of city, were attemped to be determined.
