Ne, Ne Olmuş, Şimdi Ne Olacak

Bu çalışma, “Kanıta Dayalı Kütüphanecilik: vaka çalışmaları ve aktif öğrenme alıştırmaları” başlıklı kitap içerisinde yer alan “Ne, ne olmuş, şimdi ne olacak” adlı bölümün çevirisidir. Daha önce, aynı kitabın, “Avustralya’da kanıta dayalı kütüphanecilik: bir ulusun kaynak paylaşımını geliştirmek” adlı bölümünün çevirisi yine Türk Kütüphaneciliği Dergisi için yapılmıştı. Bu bölümün yazarları olan Carla Brooks ve arkadaşları ABD’de Michigan-Dearborn Üniversitesi’nde bulunan Mardigian Kütüphanesi’nin idari ve teknik çeşitli bölümlerinde sorumluluk almış kişilerdir. 2003 yılında başlatılan bir ekip çalışması ve danışmanlık desteği ile Mardigian Kütüphanesi’nin hizmet kalitesinin araştırılması hedeflenmiştir. Kütüphaneye ilişkin öğrenci ve öğretim elemanlarından elde edilen veriler, kütüphanenin mevcut durumunu ne ; ortaya çıkan sonuçlar1 ile sorunların değerlendirilmesini ne olmuş ve neler yapılması gerektiğine ilişkin önerilerde şimdi ne olacak bulunulmasını sağlamıştır. Araştırmanın sonunda, önerilenler sistematik ve programlı biçimde hayata geçirilmiştir. Kanıta dayalı kütüphaneciliğin, hem konu ile ilgilenen tüm araştırmacılar hem de uygulama alanında çalışanlar için taşıdığı önemden yola çıkılarak, bu çevirinin, literatüre katkısının yanında benzeri çalışmalara örnek oluşturması umut edilmektedir.

This studyis thetranslation ofthesection"What, so what, nowwhat"inthebook titled"Evidence-based Librarianship: casestudies andactive learning exercises”.The translation ofthesectiontitled"Evidence-basedlibrarianshipDown Under: improving a nation's resourcesharing" in the same book waspreviously made again forthe Journal of Turkish Librarianship. Theauthorsof this section,CarlaBrookset al.,previouslyworked for someadministrative and technicaldepartments of theMardigianLibraryat the University of Michigan-Dearborn in theUSA.With ateamwork and consultancysupport launched in 2003,it was aimed to investigatethe service quality of the MardigianLibrary. The data obtained fromstudents and faculty members related tothe libraryhaveled tosuggestionsregarding the currentstateofthe library what ,assessment ofthe consequencesandproblems so what and whatneeds tobe done now what .At theend of theresearch, thesuggestionswere carried intoeffect systematically andprogrammatically.Consideringtheimportance of theevidence-basedlibrarianship for bothall the researchersinterested in the subjectaswellasfor thosewhostudy inthefieldof application, we hope thatthistranslationwill both contribute to the literature and set an examplefor similarstudiesin the future
