Resmî arşiv vesikaları dışında ailelerin elindeki belgeler, tarih çalışmaları için önemli bir kaynaktır. Bu önemli kaynaklardan biri de Sivas Ali Baba Zaviyesi Vakfı’na aittir. Dinî, ekonomik ve sosyal cephelerden yaptığı etkiyle Osmanlı Devleti açısından önem arz eden bu zaviyeye ait belgelerin neşri, çalışmanın başlıca amacıdır. Bu sebeple Ali Baba’nın soyundan gelen Mehmet Tahir Ezgi ile İstanbul Ali Baba Türbesi’ni Koruma Yaptırma ve Yaşatma Derneği Başkanı Tahir Aslandaş’tan alınan belgeler, belirli bir yöntem çerçevesinde yayınlanarak; ilgili kişilerin fayda ve hizmetine sunulmuştur.

Apart from the official archive documents, the sources that families keep and save are also important for the history researches. One of such valuable sources belongs to Ali Baba Zaviye Foundation in Sivas. The primary aim of this study is to publish the documents belong to this Zaviye which had been important in Ottoman State in terms of religion, economics, and social influences. Thus, the documents supplied by Mehmet Tahir Ezgi, a descendant of Ali Baba, and by Tahir Aslandaş, Director of the Security, Construction, and to Keep Zaviye Alive Association, are being published through historical methodology, and will be presented to the benefit performance and service of the people concerned.
