GLASSY CELL CARCINOMA OF THE UTERINE CERVIX: A RARE CASE REPORT

Introduction: Glassy cell carcinoma is a very rare clinical entitiy involving uterine cervix, comprising <1% of all cervical cancers with aggressive course and relatively poor prognosis. It was defined as a subgroup of cervical adenosquamous carcinoma. Its histologic appearance is distinctive. Case: We presented a case of glassy cell carcinoma of the cervix and discussed the clinical, morphological, histochemical and immunohistochemical characteristics of this tumor with the review of the literature. Conclusion: Because this group tumors prognosis has been poor, it was very important to be made to correctly identify and distinguish these tumors from other types of cervical carsinomas
