Bilim, araştırma ve etik

Bilim, evrendeki olguları açığa çıkartan bir etkinlik alanıdır . Bilimsel çalışmaların; tasarım,uygulama ve sonuçlandırma gibi tüm aşamaları, insanın kontrolü vesorumluluğuna bağlıdır . Bu nedenle bilim insanlarının etik değerleri, bilimsel çalışmaları daetkilemektedir . Etikdeğerlerimiz, bilimsel çalışmalarımızın insanlık için “iyi” yöndegelişmesini sağlar . Fakat,bilimsel çalışmalar sırasında ne yazık ki, çeşitli etik ihlaller de yaşanmaktadır . İnsanlarüzerindeki tıbbi araştırmalarda da bazen insan hayatını ve onurunu zedeleyen tutum vedavranışlar sergilenmektedir . Bu tür etik ihlallerin önüne geçebilmek için belirlidüzenlemelere ihtiyaç vardır . Etik standartların korunması ve ihlallerin önlenmesi anlamında etik kurullar çok önemli bir işlevi yerine getirmektedir .

Science, research and ethics

Science is an activity that sheds light on the phenomena in the universe. All stages ofscientific investigations such as design, implementation and conclusion are dependent on thecontrol and responsibility of people. Therefore, ethical values of scientists has an influence onscientific activities. Our ethical values make it possible for our scientific activities to developat a direction serving the good of mankind. However , during scientific investigations,unfortunately violations of ethical rules are encountered. Likewise, in medical investigationsusing human beings as subjects, sometimes attitudes and behaviors endangering human lifeand debasing human dignity are displayed. Certain legal regulations are necessary in order toprevent such violations of ethical rules. Ethical committees fulfillan important function inprotection of ethical standards and prevention of violations.
