DEĞERDEN İLLÜZYONA: PARA, KREDİ, BANKA

Her dönemde para konusundaki fikirler, ciddi tartışmalara neden olmuştur. Bir taraftan filozoflar ve din adamları para konusuna etik açıdan yaklaşıp, paraya ve maddiyata önem veren kişilerin giderek ahlaktan uzaklaşan bir yaşam sürdüklerini öne süren eserler vermişlerdir. Diğer taraftan da ekonomik hayatta paranın oynadığı role vurgu yapıp öven iktisatçı ve maliyeciler, uzlaşmaz bir tartışmanın kutuplarını oluşturmuşlardır. Tarih boyunca para konusundaki karşıt iki görüş, sürekli bir çatışma içinde olmuştur. 1790’lardan sonra para kavramı klasik iktisatçıların temel tartışma konularının başında yer almıştır. Özellikle 1793-1797 yılları arasında ortaya çıkan ciddi finansal kriz, dönemin iktisatçılarının bankacılık sistemi ve para konusundaki düşüncelerinde köklü değişikliklere neden olmuştur. Bu çalışmada, para teorisinin gelişme evresi, önde gelen iktisatçıların açıklamalarıyla birlikte ele alınacaktır.

FROM VALUE TO ILLUSION: MONEY, CREDIT, BANK

Thoughts on the concept of money, always leads up serious debates. Philosophers and clergymen approaches ethically on money, and describe people who care about money and materiality as living gradually stepping away from a moral life. On the other hand in contradiction to philosophers, economists and financiers emphasize the complimentary role of money in life. These two opposite opinions on money conflict throughout history. Monetary was a major concern of classical economists from 1790’s onwards. In 1793 and 1797 serious financial crisis took place, had changed the backgrounds of the banking system significantly. The progress of monetary theory, is the subject of this study with the explanations of outstanding economists.
