GRUP ÇALIŞMASININ CİNSEL SUÇTAN HÜKÜMLÜ ÇOCUKLARIN SOSYAL İLİŞKİ, EMPATİK BECERİ VE BENLİK SAYGISINA ETKİSİ

Bu araştırma, çocuklara özgü bir ıslah kuruluşunda cinsel suçtan hükümlü çocuklarla yapılmıştır. Araştırmada, grup çalışmasının cinsel suçtan hükümlü çocukların benlik saygısı, empatik beceri ve sosyal ilişki düzeylerine etkisi belirlenmek istenmiştir. Araştırmaya deney ve kontrol grubu olmak üzere 24 cinsel suçtan hükümlü çocuk dâhil edilmiştir. Deney grubundaki çocuklar ile 12 hafta süre ile grup çalışması yapılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda grup çalışması deneyimi yaşamış deney grubundaki cinsel suçtan hükümlü çocukların sosyal ilişki düzeylerinin kendi içinde anlamlı düzeyde artış gösterdiği, benlik saygısı ve empatik becerilerinin ise istatistiksel açıdan anlamlı olmasa da kontrol grubundaki çocuklara göre artış gösterdiği belirlenmiştir.

The Effect of Group Work on the Level of Self Esteem, Emphatic Skills and Social Relationships of Convicted Young Sexual Offenders

This research has been conducted with convicted young sexual offenders in a reformatory for children. The research tries to determine the effects of group work on self-esteem, empathic skills and social relationship levels of convicted children. The study population consists of twenty-four (24) convicted young sexual offenders (12 in control group, 12 in treatment group). A group work has been performed with the children in the treatment group during twelve (12) weeks. Research results indicate that there is a meaningful increase in the level of social relationships of children in the treatment group who had group work experience. The data also reveals that although there is no statistically meaningful increase in the levels of self-esteem and emphatic skills of children in the treatment group, the scores of the children in the treatment group are higher than those in the control group.
