Feminist Group Work: Backround, Scope and Process

Feminism and social work are referred to as complementary to each other with their philosophies and practices. On the basis of social work and feminism “empowerment approach”, “ justice” and “exercises of rights” lie. In the strict sense, feminist social work practices are based only on women; on the other hand, broader sense of feminism depends on efforts of opposed all kind of pressures micro, mezzo and makro level of practices.Based on this assesment, the study aims to evaluate the theory as a whole and contributes to better integration of feminist theory into social work practice. This study argues that the scope and content of feminist theory, perspectives of feminist theory and how to configure group work within the scope of feminist social work practice are important.
