Bu makalede Hz. Peygamber’in Medine’de küçük askerî faaliyetler şeklinde başlayan ve büyük savaşlara dönüşen Müşriklere karşı aktif silahlı mücadelesinin Mekke’de yaşananlarla ilişkisi ele alınmıştır. Hz. Peygamber neden savaştı? sorusuna cevaplar, genelde Medine döneminde ve tek tek olaylarda aranmıştır. Hâlbuki Mekke döneminde yaşananlar, savaş sebeplerini oluşturma bakımından dönemin gelenekleri itibariyle yeteri kadar gerekçe içermektedir. Dolayısıyla Medine döneminde başlayan ilk askerî faaliyetlerin sebebi, Mekke Müşrikleri ile Müslümanlar arasında savaş şartlarının daha Mekke döneminde iken oluşmasıdır. Müşrikler tek taraflı savaş ilan etmişlerdir. Hicret de savaş şartlarında gerçekleşmiştir.

In this article, the relationship between Prophet Muhammed’s armed struggle in Madina, which first began as minor military activities but developed into larger battles, and the events in Macca has been investigated. The question why the Prophet fought has been studied by generally focusing on the single events that happened during the Madina period. However, the events that happened during the Meccan period include adequate evidence as well in terms of the reasons for waging a war. Accordingly, the reasons for the initial military activities of the Madina period were related to the fact that the conditions for the battle between Meccan Mushriks (Polytheists) and the Muslims were already established during the Meccan Period. Accordingly, the hijra (the Prophet’s migration) happened under the battle circumstances.
