Dünya kota sisteminin sona ermesi ile birlikte hazır giyim üretiminde dengeler hızlı bir şekilde değişmiştir. Türkiye ekonomisi açısından büyük önem taşıyan hazır giyim endüstrisi dünyadaki üretim dengelerinin değişmesinden önemli derecede etkilenmiştir. Bu değişim ortamında, Türk hazır giyim işletmelerinin başarılı olabilmeleri, müşteri istek ve ihtiyaçlarına hızlı cevap verebilmeleri için yeni üretim yaklaşımları geliştirmeleri gerekmektedir. Bu çalışmada, hazır giyim üretiminde yaşanan değişim karşısında ortaya çıkan üretim yaklaşımlarının benzerliklerinin ve farklılıklarının ortaya konulması amaçlanmıştır. Hücresel imalat sistemi ürünlerin tasarım veya üretim benzerliklerinden yararlanılarak üretim hücreleri oluşturulmasını, yalın üretim sistemi üretimin değer yaratmayan tüm israflardan arındırılmasını, modüler üretim sistemi ürünlerin modül denilen küçük üretim hücrelerinde üretilmesini ve esnek imalat sistemleri ise üretimin ileri teknoloji kullanılarak gerçekleştirilmesini kapsamaktadır. Hücresel imalat sistemi, yalın üretim sistemi ve modüler üretim sistemi benzer üretim sistemleri olup hazır giyim üretiminde uygulanabilir. Fakat esnek imalat sistemlerinin ileri teknoloji gerektirmesi ile hazır giyim endüstrisinin emek yoğun özelliği çelişmektedir. Dolayısıyla, esnek imalat sistemlerinin hazır giyim üretimi için uygun olmadığı söylenebilir.

The balances in the read-made garment production have changed quickly since the world quota system has come to an end. The ready-made garment industry, which carries the utmost importance in terms of the Turkish economy, has been considerably influenced by the change in the balances of world production. In this changing environment, the Turkish ready-made garment businesses must adopt new approaches in order to be successful and meet the needs of customers as swiftly as possible.In this study, it is aimed to introduce the similarities and differences of the new approaches emerged in the ready-made garment industry against the changes being experienced. Cellular manufacturing system involves constituting manufacturing cells by making use of the design or manufacturing similarities of products, lean production system involves clearing of all the waste that does not have any value, modular production system involves manufacturing of products in small production cells which are called modules, and flexible manufacturing systems involve production by utilising advanced technology. Cellular manufacturing system, lean production system and modular production system are all similar systems and can be applied to ready-made garment production. However, flexible manufacturing systems, which require advanced technology, is in conflict with the labour intensive element of the ready-made industry. Hence, it can be said that flexible manufacturing systems are not suitable for the ready-made industry.
