MİMARLIK ÜRETİMİ ÜZERİNE BİR İÇ HESAPLAŞMA: Tüketim Dinamiklerinin Uzantısında Mimari bir Duruş

Çalışma tüketim toplumunun dinamikleri ile yönlendirilen mekan üretim süreçlerinde mimarlık üretiminin yeri, rolü ve etkisi üzerine bir tartışma açmaktadır. Söz konusu tartışma, mimarlık üretiminin tüketim dinamiklerinin uzantısında eleştirel bir duruş geliştirip geliştiremeyeceğini sorgulayan bir iç hesaplaşma olarak da tanımlanabilir. Gerçekleşmiş bir mekan üretim sürecinin (pratiğinin) eleştirel kuramın bakış açısıyla, kesitler ve katmanlarla irdelendiği ve tartışıldığı, mekan üretim süreçlerinde mimarlık üretiminin nasıl yorumlanabileceğine dair bir okuma biçimi önerilmekte ve böylece bir örneklem oluşturulmaktadır.Tüketim dinamiklerinin erk olarak kabul edildiği bir bağlamda, mimarlık üretiminden erkin hizmetinde olması, aynı zamanda erk için erke rağmen bir karşı duruş geliştirmesi beklenmektedir. Bununla beraber söz konusu duruşun gerçekten eleştirel bir yapısının olup olmayacağı irdelenmelidir. Mimarlık üretiminin, diyalektik bir yapısı olduğu üzerinde durulmakta, eleştirel bir duruş ortaya konabilmesi için erkin stratejilieri karşısında her seferinde yeniden kurgulanan taktiklerle ilerlemesi gerekliliğine işaret etmektedir.

The article opens a discussion on the role and impact of architecture and architectural design in the processes of production of space driven by the dynamics of consumerism. Such a discussion can also be regarded as a self-recrimination of architecture questioning if a critical architectural stance could be achieved towards consumerism. Scrutinizing a finalized space production process, dissecting it in sections and layers with critical theory’s approach, proposes a way of reading (an interpretation) the process itself and the role of architecture within, thus providing an exemplar. In a context where the dynamics of consumerism can be regarded as the leading power of space production, architecture by its own means of production is expected to be in the service of power and at the same time displaying a counter stance aganist power. Yet the possibility of a critical stance (in other words a position-taking) must be taken into consideration. The article points out to the dialectic nature of architecture and implies that a critical stance is possible if ever changing, shifting tactics are adopted towards the strategies of power.
