The basin reports accomplished by General Directorate of Soil and Water were.classifı ed according to the soil classifı cation system developed by Thorp et. all., 1949 . Many soil classification systems have been developed on the basis of observable and measurable morphological features with identification horizoR ş to replace Thorp et. all's 1949 classification system. Presently, the Anonymous 1990 , FitzPatrick 1988 , and Anonyrnous 1994 systems are being widely used as well as Turkey and in many countries. Thus, seven profı les of seven great soil groups were classified by the Anonymous 1990 , FitzPatrick 1988 , and Anonymous 1994 systems in order to briefly discuss and conceptual approach yielding style and variable points.
