Güneydoğu Anadolu Bölgesi'nin IIIVII. yüzyıllardaki tarihi coğrafyasına ilişkin erken ortaçağ kaynakları

III. yüzyıldan VII. yüzyıl ortalarına kadar devam eden ve Anadolu tarihinin en büyük mücadelelerinden biri olan Bizans-Sâsâni çekişmeleri, kuzeyde Kafkaslardan güneyde Suriye çöllerine kadar geniş bir sahada cereyan etmiştir. Fakat söz konusu mücadelelerin ana merkezi Fırat ve Dicle nehirlerinin suladığı bereketli toprakları ile her iki devlet için büyük önem arz eden Güneydoğu Anadolu bölgesidir. Coğrafyanın mücadelenin seyrine tesiri ile mücadelenin coğrafya üzerindeki etkileri ayrı bir araştırma konusu iken biz bu çalışmamızda amacımız söz konusu mücadeleler süresince yörede inşa edilip adeta mantar gibi çoğalan kaleler, garnizonlar ve müstahkem şehirler hakkında bilgi veren erken dönem kaynakları tespit etmektir.

Early medieval sources on historical geography of southeast anatolia in the 3rd-7th centuries

The struggle of Byzantine-Sassanid Empires in Anatolia was occur a huge zone which from Caucassia to Syria desert. But main center of these wars was southeast Anatolia that lands watered by the Tigris and Euphrates rivers. The influence of geography on the course of the struggle is another subject matter. In this study we will identify that early medieval sources on the forts, garrisons and fortified cities in that region.
