SPOR VE AĞIZ-DİŞ SAĞLIĞI İLİŞKİSİNİN DEĞERLENDİRİLMESİ

Amaç Çalışmamızda, sporla ilgilenen bireylerin ağız-diş sağlığını değerlendirmek, oral hijyen ve beslenme alışkanlıklarının ağız-diş sağlığı üzerine etkilerini in celemek amaçlandı. Gereç ve Yöntem Isparta Spor Lisesi’nden 241, Isparta Güzel Sanatlar Lisesi’nden 179 öğrenciye sosyoekonomik/demogra fik durumları, beslenme ve oral hijyen alışkanlıkları ve spor yaşı ile ilgili sorular içeren anket formu uygulan dı. Tüm katılımcıların ağız içi muayeneleri yapılarak; DMFT/DMFS, UGT, plak ve gingival indeks skorları belirlendi, dişlerin kapanış ilişkileri değerlendirildi. Elde edilen veriler istatistiksel olarak analiz edildi. Bulgular İki lisede de öğrencilerin çoğunluğunun ailelerinin ay lık gelir seviyesinin düşük olduğu görüldü. Spor Lise si öğrencilerinin karyojenik beslenmeye daha yatkın oldukları ve diş fırçalama alışkanlıklarının daha zayıf olduğu tespit edildi. Spor Lisesi öğrencilerinin DMFT/ DMFS, plak ve gingival indeks skorları yüksek bu lundu (p0,05). Spor Lisesi’nde daha fazla oranda görülen Angle sınıf 3 kapanış ilişkisi (p0,05). Sonuç Spor yapan bireylerin ailelerinin, öğretmenlerinin veya antrenörlerinin, beslenme ve oral hijyen alışkanlıkları ve etkileri konusunda bilgilendirilmesi önem taşımak tadır.

EVALUATION OF SPORT AND ORAL-DENTAL HEALTH RELATIONSHIP

Objective The aims of our study are to evaluate the oral and dental health status and to consider the impact of oral hygiene and dietary habits on oral and dental health in a group of sporting individuals. Materials and Methods The study included 241 students from Isparta Sports High School and 179 students from Isparta Fine Arts High School. They were asked to complete a ques tionnaire related to their socioeconomic/demographic status, dietary patterns, oral hygiene habits and the amount of doing sports. DMFT/DMFS, UGT, plaque and gingival index scores, occlusal relationship were evaluated by intraoral examinations of all participants. Statistical analyses were performed using all the data collected. Results In both high schools, families of the majority of stu dents had a lower socioeconomic status. The stu dents of Sports High School were more prone to the cariogenic diet and had poorer tooth brushing habits. DMFT/DMFS, plaque and gingival indices scores were found to be high in the students of Sports High School (p0,05). There was no difference in terms of occlusal relationship and bad oral habits between the students of two schools (p>0,05) except Angle Class 3 closure relationship, which was more common in the students of Sports High School (p
