Marmara Denizi mezgit (Merlangius merlangus euxinus Nordmann, 1840) balığının bazı biyolojik özellikleri

Bu araştırmada, Marmara Denizi'nden avlanan mezgit (Merlangius meriangus euxinus Nordmann, 1840) balığının Ocak-Aralık 2003 tarihleri arasında; yaş, boy ve ağırlık dağılımları ile yaş-boy, yaş-ağırlık, boy-ağıriık ilişkileri, kondisyonu ve üreme özellikleri üzerinde çalışılmıştır. İncelenen 920 adet dişi ve erkek bireye ait kondisyon faktörü (K) değeri ortalama 0.746 olarak bulunmuştur. Mezgit balığında allometrik bir büyüme olduğu; yaş-boy, yaş-ağırlık ve boy-ağıriık arasında pozitif ve kuvvetli bir ilişkinin varlığı saptanmıştır. İncelenen balıkların I-V. yaşlar arasında dağılım gösterdiği; birey sayısının I. ve II. yaş gruplarında fazla olduğu belirlenmiştir. Boy-ağıriık ilişkisi W=0.005L314 olup, toplam ölüm oranı % 66.9 olarak hesaplanmıştır. Mezgit balığının üremesinin yıl boyunca devam ettiği ve Kasım-Ocak ile Mart-Nisan aylarında maksimum düzeye ulaştığı saptanmıştır.

Some biological characteristics of the whiting (Merlangius merlangus euxinus Nordmann, 1840) in the Marmara Sea.

In this study; age, length, weight distributions; the relations between the age-length, the age-weight, the length-weight condition index and the reproduction characteristics of the whiting (Merlangius meriangus euxinus Nordmann, 1840) caught on the Marmara Sea were investigated. The condition factor of the whiting was found 0.746 in 920 investigated males and females. The growth of the whiting was found to be allometric and its relationships between age-length, age-weight, length-weight positive and strong. The stock in the investigated area consisted mainly of fish in age groups I-V and the abundance of fish was found in age groups I and II. The length-weight relationship was W=0.005L314 and total mortality rate was found %66.9. The spawning time of whiting extended from January to December, with a maximum in November-January and March-April. According to our researchs it has been concluded that the whiting's fishing length must be minimum 17 cm.
