Yapay resif blokları deniz zeminine değişik yöntemlerle farklı düzenlerde yerleştirilmektedir. Balıkların resif blokları etrafındaki akış değişimlerini algılayabilmeleri amacıyla gerekli basınç dalgalanmalarının üretilebilmesi için, resif boyutu, resif şekli, yapısal elemanlarının boyuttan ve yerleştirme düzeni önemlidir. Bu amaçla, tek yönlü dalga kanalında 7 farklı dalga yüksekliği ve sabit dalga periyodu koşullan altında, ince çakıllı zeminde, 1:30 ölçekle hidrolik denemeler yapılmıştır. Denemede kullanılan modeller, içi dolu ve boşluklu küp şeklinde ve 5x5x5 cm3 boyutundadır. Resif modelleri 5 farklı düzende, 10 m su derinliğine yerleştirilmiş ve dalga etkilerine bağlı lokal oyulma derinlikleri belirlenmiştir. Modellerin köşelerinde oluşan lokal oyulma değerleri "mm" taksimatlı cetvel ve Sand Surface Meter (Kum yüzeyi ölçme aygıtı) ile ölçülmüştür. Denemeler sonunda yapay resif düzeninin lokal oyulma derinliğine etkisi olduğu ortaya çıkmıştır.
Artificial reef blocks are deployed with various methods in different arrangements. It is important that reef size, reef shape, sizes of structural elements and deploying arrangement to perceive fishes current changing around reef blocks could be produced pressure fluctuations. With this aim, hydraulic experiments were carried in unidirectional wave channel, under 7 different wave heights and constant wave period conditions, on fine gravel ground with 1:30 model scale. Models used for experiments have solid and hollow cubic shape and 5x5x5 cm3 size. Reef models were deployed in 5 different arrangements and local scour depths depend on wave effects were determined. Local scours were formed at the corner of models were measured by ruler with millimetre divisions ruler and Sand Surface Meter. At the end of the experiments it could be pointed that there was an effect of artificial reef arrangement to local scour depth.
