Doğrulayıcı faktör analizleri sonucunda, Brewer veCornelius (2001)un önerdiği üç faktörlü birinci düzeymodel ($X^{2}$(11, N = 250) = 30.42, RMSEA = .08, SRMR= .05, GFI = .96, NFI = .97, CFI = .98) ve üç faktörün temsil edildiği sporcu kimliğinden oluşan ikinci düzeymodel ile verinin iyi uyum gösterdiği görülmüştür ($X^{2}$(11,N = 250) = 30.40, RMSEA = .08, SRMR = .05, GFI = .96,NFI = .97, CFI = .97). Ölçeğin toplam iç tutarlık katsayısı.81dir. Sosyal Kimlik, Sporla Sınırlanmışlık ve OlumsuzDuyuşsallıktan oluşan alt ölçeklerin iç tutarlık katsayıları ise kabul edilebilir düzeydedir (sırasıyla: .69, .79ve.59). Ölçeğin Pearson Çarpım Momentler Korelasyonkatsayıları pozitif yöndedir (p

Examining psychometric properties of the turkish version of athletic ıdentity measurement scale

T he purpose of the current study is to evaluate the psychometric properties of the Turkishversion of the Athletic Identity MeasurementScale (AIMS, Brewer and Cornelius, 2001). Thesample consisted of 250 athletes (134 female and116 male; mean age = 19 ± 4.2 yrs.) competing indifferent sports. Athletic Identity MeasurementScale, The Basic Needs Satisfaction in Sport Scale and The Basic Psychological Needs in ExerciseScale were administered to all participants. Firstand high-order Confirmatory Factor Analysis wasperformed for the construct validity of AIMS, additionally discriminant validity, criterion-relatedvalidity and internal consistency were examined.Estimations of the first-order factors (7-item, 3factors) ($X^{2}$(11, N = 250) = 30.42, RMSEA = .08, SRMR = .05, GFI = .96, NFI = .97, CFI = .98) and thehigh-order factors ($X^{2}$(11, N = 250) = 30.40, RMSEA =.08, SRMR = .05, GFI = .96, NFI = .97, CFI = .97) showed a reasonably good fit. Alpha coefficients were:AIMS-total= .81, Social identity= .69, Exclusivity=.79and Negative affectivity=.59. Pearson Product Moment Correlation coefficients of the scale were positive direction (p
