The aim of this study is to determine and evaluate the level of the physical fitness of the boys and girls who do not do sports regarding performance according to their age groups and sexes. Total 885 primary school students 446 of whom were boys and 439 girls were taken as the subjects in the study. The students were respectively grouped into 9 year old 144 and 137, 10 year old 149 and 145, and 11 year old 153 and157 boys and girls. First the height and weight of the students were measured then BMI was calculated. Their physical fitness related with performance was determined with sit and reach test, 1 minute sit-up, 1 kg medicine ball throw, standing jump, left and right hand grip, 30 m sprint, and one mile run-walk tests. One-Way ANOVA/Tukey analysis were used to determine differences between ages and genders groups. Significant differences were determined in the average of the height and weight of both sexes (p<0,01); whereas, there was no significant difference in all of the age groups between the sexes (p>0,05). Some significant differences between the sexes in all age groups were determined according to physical fitness variables, especially 1 kg medicine ball throw, standing long-jump, 1 minute sit-up, 30 m sprint, and 1 mile run-walk tests (p<0,01). Although the physical properties of the boys and girls in all age groups are similar; the boys got better degrees than girls as a result of tests of power, explosive power, permanence in power, speed, and in aerobic durability performance except for flexibility performance. Contrary to what is anticipated, no significant difference was determined between age groups of each sex, regarding the performance of explosive power, muscular endurance, and the aerobic endurance. Although 9-11 year old boys and girls who do not do sports have the same physical properties, it was witnessed that the boys displayed better performance in the tests of physical fitness related with performance, and we think that these differences are due to both age and sex factors.
