Foreign capital flow exhibits importance for the developing countries to overcome the capital deficiency constraint they suffer. However, foreign direct investments which are far more important for sustainable growth than portfolio investments channel themselves to the countries in which they would encounter lower risk. In this study, the relationship between economic freedom and foreign direct investments have been analyzed using ANOVA and t-statistics. It has been found that countries ranked higher with respect to economic freedom receive more foreign direct investment than those ranked lower.
