Sürmüş multiple kompound odontoma: Bir olgu sunumu

Erupted multiple compound odontomas: case report Odontomas are benign tumors of odontogenic origin which exhibit complete dental tissue differentiation and probably hamartomatous malformation of functional ameloblast and odontoblast rather than true neoplasm. Odontomas erupting into the oral cavity are extremely uncommon and tend to be associated with impacted teeth. The treatment choice is usually surgical removal of the lesions in all cases and then they additionally require histopathological study to confirm the diagnosis. In this study 25--year-old, healthy female patient with erupted compound odontoma and persistent primary tooth 73 which caused the impaction of the permanent teeth 32, 33 is presented. The patient had no history of trauma towards her face or oral region. Erupted multiple compound Odontomas were simply extracted and the impacted teeth were surgically extracted too. The histopathological evaluation of surgical material comfirmed our diagnosis. Although the prevelance of erupted compound odontomas are rare, the clinician should be aware of impacted teeth associated with them.
