Baskıresimde Cam Kalıplar İle Çukur Baskı Tekniği: Vitreografi

Vitreografi, cam kalıplardan baskı elde etme yöntemini tanımlamak için, cam sanatçısı Harvey K. Littleton tarafından verilmiş bir terimdir. Yani Vitreografi terimi, baskı kalıbı olarak yüzeyi aşındırılmış camın kullanıldığı bir baskı tekniğini ifade eder. Malzeme olarak cam, baskıresimde iki farklı teknikte kullanılır. Bu tekniklerden biri düz baskı olarak adlandırdığımız tekniklerden biri olan monotip tekniği diğeri ise çukur baskı tekniğidir. Burada ayrıntılı bahsedilecek olan yöntem ise çukur baskı yani vitreografi tekniğidir. Vitreografi ya da cam gravür olarak da adlandırabileceğimiz bu teknikte klasik çukur baskı tekniğinde uygulanan işlemlerin aynıları veya benzerleri uygulanmaktadır. Bu makalede, vitreografinin keşfi ve tekniğinden bahsedilmiş ve uygulamalar sonucu elde edilmiş verilerden, tekniğin olumlu ve olumsuz yönleri ele alınmıştır.

Glass Plate in Printmaking and an Intaglio Method: Vitreography

Vitreography is a term entitled by glass artist Harvey K. Littleton to define a method of producing prints from glass plates. In other words, Vitreography term refers to a printmaking method in which an etched glass is used as a printing matrix. Glass, as a material, is used in two different methods in printmaking: one is monotype, a method that we call as fat printing, and the other is an intaglio method. Te method to be discussed in detail here is vitreography, which is one of intaglio methods. In vitreography (or glass etching), same or similar steps used in traditional intaglio are applied. In this article, the method and its development have been discussed, and its advantages and disadvantages have been determined based on the results obtained from applications.
