Azebaijan Velvet Clothes in Safavi Period

In this study are considered the velvets, which occupyg a significant place among palace textiles, produced in the period between 1500-1625 yy., i.e., from the substiationof the Azerbaijan Safavid State until his transformation in Iran Safavid State. The points of view, connected to a place of manufacture of these fabrics, are considered. It is emphasized that they represent Azerbaijan Art irrespective of a place of their manufacture because they belong to Tabriz Art School. Noting that compositions of these fabrics were developed by Tabriz painters, listed most widespread types of compositions. This article is only the prologue, connecting to themes and types of compositions of velvets, more volumetric research, which will cover all palace fabrics of the given period.
