Students’ Knowledge Levels About Acoustic Trauma and Noise and Evaluation of Audiogram

Objective: This study was planned to evaluate the knowledge ofnoise and acoustic trauma and audiogram measurement levels ofstudents studying at Ataturk University, Health Services VocationalSchool.Material and Method: 200 students studying in the first andsecond years in 2013-2014 academic year were included in thestudy. Descriptive features of students and their related knowledgelevels were determined through questionnaires, audiogrammeasurements and hearing tests. SPSS 17.0 software package wasused for statistical analysis. Results: There was a significant statistical relationship (p<0.05)between the descriptive features of students and left and rightear; between hearing problems and left and right bone; betweenstudying in noisy environments and right bone; between exposureto noise and left ear and right bone; between transportation andleft and right bone; between mechanic and left and right bone;between concentration and left and right bone; between burnoutand left bone; and between recreation and left and right bone. Norelationship was observed between other descriptive features andaudiogram measurements.
