Bilateral maxillary premolars with three roots and three canals: Case report
Maxillary premolars, especially first premolars usually have two root canals. Although studies have showed that they may rarely have three canals. Conventional radiography cannot be adequate to give information for successful treatment of teeth, which have multi-roots and different canal morphology. Therefore, prior to treatment, although it is rare, it should be in mind that teeth canals may have different forms. If it is necessary, advanced imaging techniques can be performed for ideal treatment and success. The aim of this case report is to emphasize the importance of correct radiographic and clinical examination prior to endodontic treatment with the incidental radiographic images of bilateral three-rooted maxillary first and second premolars of a patient who was performed dental tomography to localize the impacted canines.
