İŞSİZLİK ORANI İLE EKONOMİK BÜYÜME ARASINDAKİ ASİMETRİK İLİŞKİNİN İNCELENMESİ: TÜRKİYE ÖRNEĞİ

Bu çalışmada Okun Yasasının geçerliliği Türkiye için ele alınmış ve ekonomik büyüme ile işsizlik arasındaki asimetrik ilişki incelenmiştir. Çalışmada Okun Yasasındaki asimetrinin analiz edilmesinin önemli olduğu düşünülmüş ve bu nedenle Türkiye ekonomisindeki çıktı açıklarının işsizlik oranı üzerindeki etkisi 2005-2020 dönemi için NARDL yöntemi kullanılarak incelenmiştir. Çalışma sonuçlarına göre Türkiye için Okun Yasasının geçerli olduğu tespit edilmiş ve ekonomik büyüme ile işsizlik arasında kısa dönemde asimetrik, uzun dönemde ise simetrik bir ilişkinin var olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.

THE ANALYSIS OF THE ASYMMETRIC RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN ECONOMIC GROWTH AND UNEMPLOYMENT: THE CASE OF TURKEY

This study examined the validity of Okun's Law for Turkey and the asymmetrical relationship between unemployment and economic growth. In this study, considered that it is important for analyzing the asymmetry in the Okun's Law, therefore the impact on unemployment rate of the output gap in Turkish economy has been investigated using the NARLD method for the 2005-2020 period. The findings of the study have shown that Okun’s law is valid for Turkey and relation between unemployment and economic growth is asymmetric in the short term, but it is symmetrical in the long term.
