Clinical Characteristics In Patients With Sensory Heterotropia
Aim: Assess the clinical characteristics of patients with sensory heterotropia. Material And Method: The records of the patients diagnosed with sensory heterotropia were assessed as retrospecti- vely. Type of strabismus, etiology, organic pathology and the age of onset at visual loss were recorded. Results: Of the 164 patients, 120 (73.2%) developed esotropia, 44 (26.8%) developed exotropia. 102 (62.2%) pati- ents had congenital vision loss; 73 (71.5%) developed esotropia, 29 (28.4%) developed exotropia. 62 (37.8%) pati- ents had acquired vision loss; 7 (11.3%) developed esotropia, 55 (88.7%) developed exotropia. The average age atonset of deviation was 4,8 in esotropia and 9,1 in exotropia. A significant difference was noted between age at onsetand type of horizontal strabismus (p
