Mediastinal Mature Teratoma in a Child Patient: CT Findings
Teratomas are the most common mediastinal germ cell tumors. Generally, they are located in the anterior mediasti- num. Mature teratomas often present as asymptomatic lesions, are detected incidentally, and account for 60-70% ofall mediastinal germ cell tumors. Moreover, germ cell tumors account for anteromediastinal masses in 10-15% ofadults and 25% of children. In this case, we aim to present the computed tomography (CT) images of a patient witha pathologically confirmed mediastinal mature teratoma.
