The development of the implicit leadership scale to Turkish context

This paper reports a study investigating the psychometric properties of Implicit Leadership Scale that has been developed in Turkish context. Scale development is executed in three phase by collecting data from three different sample (n=117, n=384, n=694) with various members of demographic groups in different sections of Turkey. In the first stage, with a small sample, a pilot study was conducted to investigate the items validity. The factor structure was explored again with sample two. After a period test-retest reliability method was conducted with sample three, in this phase structure of the scale tested with exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses also. Finally implicit leadership scale with five dimension (personal morality, versatility, sensitivity, power and impressiveness) and 27 items has been developed. Five factor model appears to show evidence for the statistical significant and supported the scale’s contruct validity. The psychometric data suggests that the Turkish Implicit Leadership Scale is a reliable and valid measurement for use with different sectors employees sample.
