İspanya Örneği Üzerinden "Karşılaştırmalı Medya Sistemleri"

ÖzetBu yazı, İspanyol medyası örneği üzerinden, Daniel Hallin ve Paolo Mancini’nin, 2004’teyayınlanan Comparing Media Systems: Three Models of Media and Politics adlı kitabıhakkında eleştirel bir değerlendirmedir. Bu kitap, karşılaştırmalı medya çalışmaları alanınakatkıda bulunan son kitaplardan biridir. Çalışmada, söz konusu kitapta medya çalışmalarındailk kez uygulama alanı bulan kavramlar ele alınmakta ve bu uygulamanın kusurlu yönleriortaya konulmaktadır. Hallin ve Mancini’nin sunduğu medya modellerinden biri olan AkdenizModelinde, İspanya da yer almaktadır. Çalışmada, İspanyol medyasının tarihsel ve güncelolarak içine yerleştirildiği modele ne ölçüde uyduğu tartışılırken, İspanyol medyasının yapıve işleyişi hakkında genel bilgiler verilecektir. Son olarak, oldukça genel bir düzeyde Türkiyeile İspanya medyası arasındaki ortaklıklar ve farklılıklar üzerine kısa bir değerlendirmeyapılacaktır.Anahtar sözcükler: Medya, basın, siyaset, devlet, kayırmacılık, siyasi kutuplaşma,çoğulculuk, liberalizm AbstractThis article evaluates the contribution of Daniel C. Hallin and Paolo Mancini’s bookComparing Media Systems: Three Models of Media and Politics, published in 2004, to thearea of the Comparative Media Studies. The authors classify 18 different countries’ media,chosen between capitalist and developed countries of Europe and North America, in 3 bigmedia models. This paper analyses the models proposed by Hallin and Mancini, the problemsappeared with the application of some terms of Politics and Sociology and the degree in whichthe Mediterranean Model fits into the Spanish case. The paper also provides some notes onthe historical evolution and the contemporary Spanish Media’ structure and shape. The paperwill end with a brief commentary of both Turkish and Spanish Media according to Hallin andMancini’s media models.Keywords: Media, press, politics, state, clientelism, political polarization, pluralism,liberalism
