Özet:Bu çalışma televizyonun bir bellek mekânı olarak toplumsal hafızanın güçlenmesine vegeçmişle yüzleşmeye sunduğu imkânları tartışmayı amaçlamaktadır. Makalede, popüler görseltemsil alanında işleyen dışlama siyaseti ve bunun yol açtığı eksik-temsiller kadar, Holokostgibi travmatik olayların korkunç hatıraları etrafında tartışılan “temsiledilemezlik” meselesi debellek çalışmaları ile ilişkili bir literatür içinden değerlendirilmektedir. Bu bağlamda, yerlitelevizyon dramasının “travmatik geçmiş”e yönelik artan ilgisini sorunsallaştıran çalışmada,12 Eylül 1980 darbesi ve darbenin Diyarbakır Cezaevi’nde yaşanan baskı ve işkence gibisonuçlarının temsiline odaklanılmaktadır. Çalışmada bu çerçevede, Bu Kalp Seni Unutur mu?adlı yerli dizi, popüler televizyon dramasının geçmişin hatırlanmasında ve geçmişle yüzleşmedebir kaynak olarak potansiyel rolüne ilişkin kavrayışı güçlendirmek amacıyla incelenmektedir.Anahtar Sözcükler: Bellek çalışmaları, televizyon, yerli dizi, temsiledilemezlik, 12 Eylüldarbesi, Diyarbakır Cezaevi, travmatik geçmiş. Abstract:This article aims to argue the potentials of television as a space for memory that makeit possible to strengthen the social memory, and to come to terms with the past. Through theconceptual framework of memory studies, the article evaluates the politics of exclusion thatoperates in the domain of popular visual narratives and leads to the underrepresentation of thetraumatic past, as well as the debates that argue for the unrepresentablity of the awful memoriesof the traumatic events like Holocaust. Problematizing the domestic television serials’ recentupsurge of interest in the past, the article focuses on the representation of military coup d’étatof September 12, 1980 and its aftermaths, including the torture and coercion continued atDiyarbakır Military Prison Number 5 in the same period. Within this context, the domestictelevision serial titled How Does My Heart Ever Forget You will be examined to extend ourunderstanding of the potential role of popular television serials as a source of remembering thetraumatic past, and eventually coming to terms with it.Keywords: Memory studies, television, unrepresentablity, coup d’état of September 12,1980, domestic TV serials, Diyarbakır Prison, traumatic past.
