İngilizce Öğrencilerinin Katılımını Etkileyen Etmenler ve Etki Düzeyleri (Öğrenci Algıları)

Her öğrenci, sınıf içerisindeki sözel etkinliklere aynı oranda katılmamaktadır.

Factors Influencing Students' Participation and the Level of Effect in EFL (Students' Perceptions)

Not all students take part equally in oral classroom activities. While some students take more turns, some of them often avoid participating. It is usually accepted that participation is influenced by some internal and external factors. Also, the level of the perceived influence of these factors may vary from person to person. This study which aims at identifying the factors influencing student participation in oral activities and their level of influence was carried out with a total number of 182 students of tertiary level who were learning English as a foreign language. While some variables included in the study were perceived to be external, some of them were perceived to be more internal. Also, the level of influence students loaded on the variables indicates the level of importance of each variable for the students. Such a classification enables to understand the patterns of student participation in oral activities.
