A Short Presentation of Adult Education in Romania: A Psychopedagogical Perspective

The relationship between the adult student and the trainer is different than the oneestablished in a normal formal educational context. It brings to the class a whole wealth of experienceon both the adult and the trainer part and there are a lot of other elements (social, educational,cultural, etc.) that are to be taken into account. A description of the context is provided and some ofthe elements, which are specific to the Romanian context, are emphasized this way. At a moment,references to the educational policy, professional development, individual needs and social pressuresare brought into discussion. In the end, this paper takes a closer look at some ideas for theimprovement of the present situation.
