Okun Yasasının Geçerliliği: Türkiye’den Ampirik Bulgular

İşsizlik ile iktisadi büyüme değişkenleri arasındaki ilişkinin araştırılmasından elde edilen bulgular iktisat politikaları için önemli bir veri kaynağıdır. Bu çalışmanın amacı, söz konusu değişkenler arasındaki ilişkiyi ele alan Okun modelinin geçerliliğini Türkiye ekonomisi özelinde analiz etmektir. Analiz için 1923-2015 dönemine ilişkin veriler kullanılmış ve çoklu yapısal kırılma testleri ve parçalı regresyon analizinden yararlanılmıştır. Elde edilen bulgulara göre 1990’lı yıllardan sonra Okun yasası anlam kazanmıştır.

The Validity of Okun's Law: Evidence from Turkey

Evidence obtained from analyzing the relationship between unemployment and economic growth is an important data source for generating economic policies. The purpose of this study is to investigate the validity of Okun's law, which emphasize the relationship between unemployment and economic growth, for Turkish economy. In order to examine the relationship in question, the data of the 1923-2015 period is used and multiple-structural breaks tests and partial regression analysis is performed.
