Bu yazı, Herakleitos'un 53. fragmanını ve özellikle polemos kavramını, onun bazı ilişkili fragmanları ışığında yorumlamaya çalışmaktadır. Fragmanın iki farklı yorumu bulunmaktadır. Bunlardan ilkinde polemos sözcüğünün sosyal bir bağlamda ele alınması gerektiği vurgulanır ve bu da, savaşın Eski Yunan toplumundaki belirleyici rolüyle ilgilidir. Diğer yorumda polemos sözcüğü, Herakleitos'un özgün kozmik uyum anlayışı ışığında kozmolojik metafizik bir ilke olarak ele alınır. Fragmanın anlamı son tahlilde kapalı kalsa da, çalışma okuruna Herakleitos'un uyum felsefesini daha geniş biçimde yorumlayabilmesi için bir fırsat sunmaktadır.

This paper is largely devoted to interpreting Heraclitus' fragment 53 and especially the concept polemos in the light of his some other related fragments. There are two different interpretation of the fragment. In the first one it is emphasized that the word polemos is belong to a social context and it's about the determining role of the war in Ancient Greek society. In the other interpretation the word polemos is considered as a cosmological-metaphyscial principle in the light of Heraclitus' understanding of cosmic harmonia. Although the meaning of the fragment remains unclear in the final analysis, the paper give an opportunity to its readers to make a wider commitment about Heraclitus' philosophy of harmonia.
