Modern dünyanın en güncel ve karmaşık sorunlarından birini inceliyoruz: İnsan hak ve özgürlüklerinin toplumsal ve felsefi bir kategori olarak mahiyetini. Kur'an'ın muhtelif surelerinden getirdiğimiz somut alıntılar vasıtasıyla, ilkin, İslam'ın insan hak ve özgürlükleri ilkeleri bağlamında ifade ettiği önem ile anlamı temellendiriyoruz. Ayrıca özgürlük sorununu geniş bir tarihi süreç içinde izliyoruz. Kişi özgürlüğünün özünü araştırıp, kişi özgürlüğü kavramının insanın yaratıcı etkinliği önünde zengin imkânlar açtığını fakat aynı zamanda toplumda mevcut dahili hudutlar ve ölçülerle kayıtlı olduğunu gösteriyoruz. Kişi özgürlüğünün toplumsal özgürlük düzeyiyle doğrudan bağlantılı olduğunu temellendiriyoruz.

The article is devoted to one of the most actual and complicated problems of the modern world: investigation of human rights and freedoms as a social and philosophical category. Bringing concrete quotations from Al-Hujurat, Al-Bagara, Yunis etc. surahs of the Koran the author grounds the idea of relevance of Islam to the main principles of human rights and freedoms. The concept of freedom is investigated in a wide historical consequence. Investigating the essence of freedom of personality, the author grounds the idea that freedom of personality opens great chances for creative activity of human beings but at the same time includes some measures and internal limitations existing in the society. The measure of freedom of personality is directly connected with the existing level of freedom in the society.
