Cicero'nun De Fato adlı eserinin teşrihi
Romanın cumhuriyet döneminde yaşamış olan ünlü devlet adamı ve hatip Marcus Tullius Cicero (İ.Ö.106-43) düzyazı türündeki bazı eserleriyle Yunan felsefesinin önemli konu başlıklarını ele almış, bunu yaparken de öncelikli bir gereksinim olduğu için Yunanca felsefe terimlerini Latinceleştirmeye çalışmıştır. Diğer birçok eserine göre az bilinen De Fato adlı eserinde de günümüze ulaştığı kadarıyla, Stoacılık, Epicurusçuluk ve Yeni Academiacılık gibi farklı felsefe ekollerinin kader ve zorunlulukla ilgili farklı görüşlerini aktarıp eleştiri süzgecinden geçiren Cicero yine Yunanca felsefe terimlerine karşılıklar bulmaya çalışmıştır. Bu çalışmamızda eseri metinsel ve tarihsel kanıtlara dayanarak tarihlendirecek, kayıp kısımlarıyla ilgili bilgi sunup yöntemi ve bölümlenişini açımlayacak ve son olarak batı dünyasındaki yayın geçmişine bakacağız.
İntroduction to ciceros de fato
The most celebrated stateman and orator Marcus Tullius Cicero (106-43 BC) who lived in republican period of Rome, treated the substantial issues of Greek Philosophy in his some Works, and meanwhile tried to Latinize Greek philosophical terms, for its principal necessary. As far as it comes to us, in his De Fato, narrowly aknowledged in comparison with the many other works, while he is citing and criticizing the approaches of different schools of Philosophy, such as Stoic, Epicurean and New-Academian, he tries to find the equivalents to Greek philosophical terms. In this treatise, we date it by depending on textual and historical arguments, and explain its lacuna, method and partition and finally history of its publication in western world.
