"Biri Bizi Gôzetliyor" programı ile gozetleme kavramı, Türk toplumunda geniş bir kesiminde tartışılmaya başlanmıştır. Oysa toplumu oluşturan bireyler gerçekte gözetleyen değil, gözetlenen konumundadır. lleri teknolojiler ile gelişen yeni gözetim mekanizmaları, önceleri devletçi bir amaç ile kullanılırken, tüketim toplumuna geçişle birlikte, tüketici alışkanlıklarının ölçülmesine dek süregelmiştir. Sonuç olarak, "Biri Bizi Gôzetliyor" programı, izleyicilere bir gözetleyen yanılsaması yaratmakla birlikte, gerçekte gözetlenenler toplumun kendisidir

With "Someone is Watching Us", a Turkish version of Big Brother television show, the concept ofpeeking has began to be discussed in every level of Turkish society. These discussions have been shown differences through the sort ofideologies in society and brought different kind ofpoint ofviews to the concept ofpeeking. Individuals that form the society are not the ones who are actually watching but the ones being watched, being peeked. New peeking mechanisms, which was developed by the advanced technologies, formerly used in ruling state ideology purposes, within the transition to consumption society period, are now being used for measuring the customer behaviors. As a result, 'Someone is Watching Us' television show creates an illusion that the viewers consider themselves as a peeker but the reality is totally different; people who think that theyare peeking the people in the showare actually the ones are being peeked instead.
