Toxic Effects of Some Plant Derived Oils and Components Against Larvae of Colorado Potato Beetle (Leptinotarsa decemlineata L.), (Col.: Chrysomelidae)

In this study. toxicity of seven plant oils and component derived different plant with different methods were tested against larvae of L. decemlineata using dipping methods. With dipping application method at a concentration of 100 µL/ 10 mL and 72 h application time caused 70-100 % larval mortality by thyme, eugenol and carvacrol. In the experiments. increasing application times and concentrations caused increasing larval mortality for tested carvacrol, thyme and eugenol. This study indicates that thyme oil and carvacrol can be used as a possible alternative for developing bio- insecticide controling of L. decemlineata.
