Yenidoğan buzağı ishallerinden Salmonella ve Citrobacter türlerinin izolasyon ve identifikasyonu
Bu çalışma, Salmonella ve Citrobacter türlerinin yenidoğan ishalli buzağılardaki prevalansını ortaya koymayı amaçlamıştır. Kars yöresinde yetiştirilmekte olan toplam 155 adet yenidoğan ishalli buzağıdan alınan dışkı örneklerinin 3 tanesinden Salmonella spp., farklı 3 tanesinden de Citrobacter spp. izole ve identifiye edildi. Bu sonuçlara göre hem Salmonella hem de Citrobacter türlerinin ishalli yenidoğan buzağılardaki prevalansı % 1.93 olarak bulundu. Yörede ishal vakalarında Salmonella türlerinin önemini koruduğunu ve Citrobacter türlerinin yenidoğan buzağılarda ishal nedeni olabileceğini ortaya koyan bu çalışma, bu etkenlerin ishal vakalarının teşhisinde, tedavisinde, kontrol ve koruma çalışmalarında dikkate alınması gerekliliğini ortaya koymuştur.
Isolation and identification of Salmonella spp. and Citrobacter spp. from diarrheic neonatal calves
The purpose of this study was to determine the prevalence of Salmonella spp. and Citrobacter spp. in diarrheic neonatal calves. In 155 fecal samples analyzed for presence of these agents, Salmonella spp. and Citrobacter spp. were isolated and identified from 3 different samples. These results showed that prevalence of these microorganisms was 1.93% in diarrheic neonatal calves. The current study presents the significance of possible Salmonella- and Citrobacter-related diarrhoea, therefore, these agents need to be considered for diagnosis, prophylaxis, control and prevention of diarrhoea of neonatal calves in Kars region.
