Cestodlar ve bağışıklık

Cestodlar, memelileri ve kanatlıları enfekte eden ve oldukça kompleks olan enfeksiyon etkenlerindendir. Bunlar, bakterilere ve protozoonlara göre büyük olmaları nedeniyle çok değişik antijenik özelliklere sahiptirler. Cestod parazitler ile sonkonaklan arasında ki immünolojik etkileşim hakkında çok az şey bilinmektedir. İmmünolojik etkileşmeler arakonaklar ile parazitler arasında daha fazla gerçekleşmektedir. Cestod immünolojisi ve moleküler biyolojisi üzerinde yapılan çalışmalar, hem insanlar, hem de hayvanlar için daha çok önem taşımaları nedeniyle daha çok Cyclophyllidea takımında bulunan türler üzerinde yoğunlaşmıştır. Bu derlemede cestodlarda immünite konusunda bilgi verilmiştir.

Cestods and immunity

Cestods are known rather complex infection agents infecting mammals and birds. These have various antigenic characteristics because of their big size comparing to bacteria and protozoa and various feeding habits. There is very little information about immunologic interactions between cestodes and their final hosts. Immunologic reactions mostly occur between parasites their intermediate hosts. Studies on cestode immunology and molecular biology mostly concentrated on the species belong to the order of Cyclophyllidea. Information is given about cestode immunity in this review article.
