Tuj ırkı bir koyunda oküler yassı hücreli karsinoma olgusu

Bu makalede Tuj ırkı bir koyunda tespit edilen oküler yassı hücreli karsinoma olgusunun klinik ve histopatolojik bulgularının aktarılması amaçlandı. Kafkas Üniversitesi Veteriner Fakültesi Cerrahi Polikliniğine getirilen 4 yaşlı, Tuj ırkı bir koyun olgu materyalini oluşturdu. Anamnez bilgilerinden yaklaşık bir yıldır sol gözde nohut büyüklüğünde olan fakat son 2 ayda ise hızlı büyüme gösteren bir kitlenin varlığı öğrenildi. Klinik muayenede sol gözde, 5 cm çapında, sert kıvamda, hemorajik, karnıbahar şeklinde papiller üremeler ve yüzeyde ülserasyon ile karakterize, medial kantusun orbital kemiğini de içine alan ve bulbus okuliyi baskılayan bir kitle belirlendi. Sol göz küresinin, kitlenin yaptığı basınçla atrofik hal almış olduğu ve panoftalmia purulenta ile birlikte konjunktivada şemosis şekillendiği görüldü. Sedasyon ve genel anesteziyi izleyerek bulbus oculi, konjunktival dokular, gözün tüm eklenti bezleri ve retrobulbar kaslar ekstirpe edildi. Daha sonra kitlenin total ekstirpasyonu ve köken aldığı orbital kemik yüzeyinin küretajı yapıldı. Kanamalar durdurulduktan sonra, göz kapaklan, deri altı bağ doku gevşetilip dren yerleştirilebilecek bir aralık bırakılarak dikildi. Operasyon bölgesine antibiyotikli fitil dren konan hasta 7 gün süreyle post-operatif antibiyotik uygulaması ve yara bakımının ardından taburcu edildi. Operasyonla alınan kitlenin histopatolojik incelemesinde kitlenin oküler yassı hücreli karsinoma olduğu saptandı.

Ocular squamous cell carcinoma in a tuj ewe

In this article clinical and histopathological findings of a ocular squamous cell carcinoma occurred in a Tuj ewe is reported. A four years old Tuj ewe was admitted to the Veterinary Surgery Clinics of Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Kafkas. Anamnesis revealed a mass with a size of chick pea present in the left eye for approximately one year increased in size rapidly in last two months. Clinical examination showed a cauliflower shaped, hemorrhagic and ulcerative mass with irregular contours and papillary type protrusions on the surface with a size of 5 cm covering orbital bone of medial cantus and supressing on bulbus oculi. Left eye was atrophic due to pressure of the mass. Panophthalmia prulenta and conjunctival chemosis were also seen. Following sedation and general anaesthesia bulbus oculi, conjunctival tissues, annexial glands and retrobulbar muscles were extirped. Afterwards, mass originating from medial cantus was totally excissed and orbital bony surface curettaged. Then, eyelids were sutured after loosening of the subcutaneous connective tissue and leaving a gap sufficient for drainage. Postoperatively, the sheep was discharged after having been subjected to postoperative drainage application, antibiotic and wound therapy for 7 days. Histopathological investigation of the mass taken postoperatively revealed that it was a ocular squamous cell carcinoma.
