Ankara İli evcil hayvan veteriner kliniklerinin yönetimsel ve ekonomik açıdan değerlendirmesi

Bu araştırmada, Ankara ilinde evcil hayvanlar üzerine çalışan özel veteriner kliniklerin kuruluş ve işletme dönemine ait sorunlarının belirlenmesi, işletmelerin mali ve ekonomik yapılarının analiz edilmesi, klinik işletmeciliği ile ilgili sorunların çözümüne yönelik öneriler sunulması amaçlanmıştır. Bu kapsamda, Ankara ili merkezinde pet hayvanlar üzerine yoğunlaşan ve ankete katılmayı kabul eden toplam 32 veteriner kliniğinde, işletme sahibi veteriner hekimler ile yüz yüze görüşülerek anket çalışması gerçekleştirilmiştir. İşletme kuruluş yeri seçiminde en çok üzerinde durulan 3 faktör sırasıyla, bölgedeki hayvan populasyonu, semt hane halkı gelir düzeyi ile klinik sayısı ve birbirine yakınlığı olarak tespit edilmiştir. Veteriner kliniklerinin, 2008 yılında ortalama kuruluş maliyeti ve yatırımın geri dönüş süresi sırasıyla 33.625 TL (US$24.907) ve 18.9 ay olarak bulunmuştur. Yapılan ekonomik analizde; klinik işletmelerinin aylık ortalama giderinin 4.259 TL (US$3.155) olduğu, toplam maliyet içinde en fazla pay alan masraf unsurlarının işgücü maliyeti (%24.77), aşıserum- ilaç giderleri (%20.87), kira gideri (%14.17) ve alet-cihaz ve ekipman giderleri (%11.37) olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Diğer taraftan, işletmelerin aylık ortalama geliri 7.132 TL (US$5.283) ve net karı 2.873 TL (US$2.128) olarak saptanmıştır. Ayrıca, veteriner kliniklerinin toplam gelirleri içerisinde yer alan en önemli kalemlerin, sırasıyla aşı ve anti-paraziter ilaç uygulamaları (%26.07), muayene-tedavi ücretleri (%20.66) ve operasyon gelirleri (%12.59) olduğu belirlenmiştir.

Managerial and economic evaluation of small animal veterinary clinics in Ankara province of Turkey

This research aimed to identify the choice of location and operating period problems of the private veterinary clinics which focused on pet animals in an urban area of Ankara province, to analyze the financial and economic structure of these enterprises, and to provide some suggestions to solve the problems about clinic management. In this context, face-to-face surveys were conducted with a total 32 clinic owner veterinarians who agreed to participate in the study. The three factors with greatest influence on the selection of enterprise location were identified as regional animal population, household income level in the district, the number of clinics, and their proximity to each other, respectively. The average establishment cost and the return on investment period of the veterinary clinics for the year 2008 were found to be US$24.907 and 18.9 months, respectively. The average monthly cost of the veterinary clinics was calculated as US$3.155 and the expense elements with the greatest share in total cost were determined as labor cost (24.77%), vaccination-serumdrug costs (20.87%), rental expense (14.17%), and the expenses related to materials, devices and equipment (11.37%). On the other hand, the average net profit of the veterinary clinics was found to be US$2.128, while their average monthly income was US$5.283. Furthermore, the most important items in the total income of the veterinary clinics were identified as vaccinations and anti-parasitic drug therapy (26.07%), examination-treatment fees (20.66%), and surgery revenues (12.59%), respectively.
