Osmanlı Araştırmalarının Yansımaları: Bangladeş’te Üniversite Eğitiminin Bağlamsal Bir Analizi

Bu makalede, Bangladeş üniversitelerindeki Osmanlı araştırmalarının mevcut durumu konu edilmektedir. Çalışmada ilk olarak üniversitelerin Osmanlı araştırmalarına ilgisini gösteren veriler tespit edilmekte ve sonrasında, Osmanlı tarihi çalışmalarının yer bulduğu üniversitelerin ilgili ders içerikleri incelenmektedir. Araştırmanın birincil kaynakları, aynı zamanda çalışmanın kavramsal çerçevesinin de temelini oluşturan ders özetleri, program müfredatları ve Bangladeş üniversitelerinde Osmanlı tarihi alanında üretilen yayınlarıdır. Makale, olguyu birincil ve ikincil kaynaklar üzerinden tanımlayıp analiz eden bütüncül bir yaklaşım benimsemektedir. Ayrıca söz konusu veriler neden-sonuç ilişkisi içinde karşılaştırılmakta ve yorumlanmaktadır. Çalışmada son olarak, Bangladeş’teki Osmanlı araştırmalarının geleceği hakkında bazı öngörü ve öneriler sunulmaktadır

Reflections of Ottoman Studies: A Contextual Analysis of University Education in Bangladesh

The main aim of this paper is to explore the current situation of Ottoman studies in the universities of Bangladesh. It surveys the first-hand data showing that universities’ interest in this field and investigates course-contents of the different universities of Bangladesh in which Ottoman history being introduced. Accordingly, the primary sources in doing so are syllabi, curriculum, course packages, and research publications of the Bangladeshi academic environment, which are also the basis of the study’s conceptual framework. The article follows a holistic approach via describing and analyzing the topic through primary and secondary sources. It also compares and interprets the data with building a cause effect relationship of the phenomenon. It, finally, presents recommendations regarding the prospects of Ottoman studies in Bangladesh.
