MÂTÜRÎDÎ’DE ‚ŞÂHİDİN GÂİBE DELÂLETİ‛ METODU

Māturīdī is located between the Ash'ariya and Mu'tazila in terms of the significance of the intellect inunderstanding of religion. In Māturīdī’s understanding of speculative reasoning, the world, which iscalled the sensible world can be perceived by five senses, has a prominent importance. According tohim, this universe is evidence for the existence of supersensuous world which is outside of five sensesand known as the invisible world. In Kitāb al-Tawhīd (The Book of Monotheism), this method isexpressed as "The Analogy of The Unseen Based on the Seen". This world, or the "visible world",witnesses by its existence to the creator which created it. However, the possibility of whether visibleworld is always an evidence for the invisible world is problematic. If this is possible, one of the issuesthat need to be addressed is that under which conditions it takes place. For example, when the visibleworld is accepted that it witnesses for a world that has the same features, how can this situation beapplied to God? In other words, will God be regarded as a being that depends on the laws of physics? As a matter of fact, the acceptance of this proposal, which suggest that the visible world witnesses aworld like itself, can lead to such a consequence. In other respects, is there another way to makeinquiries on God and His attributes and afterlife except this method? For instance, how efficient thesense in this field? Is the information gained from the ‚true report‛ enough? Our work aims to reveal the method of Māturīdī which he used in the interpretation of the invisibleworld by basing on the visible world. The work was conducted through literature review, conceptanalysis, text interpretation, and was limited to the works of Māturīdī's Kitāb al-Tawhīd and Ta’wīlāt.

THE METHOD OF "THE VISIBLE AS AN EVIDENCE FOR THE INVISIBLE" IN MĀTURĪDĪ

If this is possible, one of the issues that need to be addressed is that under which conditions it takes place. For example, when the visible world is accepted that it witnesses for a world that has the same features, how can this situation be applied to God? In other words, will God be regarded as a being that depends on the laws of physics? As a matter of fact, the acceptance of this proposal, which suggest that the visible world witnesses a world like itself, can lead to such a consequence. In other respects, is there another way to make inquiries on God and His attributes and afterlife except this method? For instance, how efficient the sense in this field?
